The Monument to Emperor Charles IV is standing on Křižovnické náměstí, near the Church of Saint Francis of Assisi and the Old Town Bridge Tower. It was made in 1848 in Neo-gothic style by moulder Jacob Daniel Burgschmiet upon a model by sculptor Ernest Hähnel to commemorate the 500-years anniversary of the Charles university.
